Solid Design and Detail were hired to design and detail a working platform for Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket. The platform is used to access the Standard Interface Plane (SIP) for 7 different payload configurations. This resulted in a platform that would need to access three different elevations, and accommodate three different diameters. It also needs to be broken into four quadrants, fit in a designated storage area, and be erected in a minimum of two hours. There were also footprint restrictions due to other existing equipment in the Blue Origin New Glenn Rocket Factory.

SDD supported the 3D design and detailed this project in its entirety. This included complete 3D BIM Models, Shop Drawings, Assembly and Erection Drawings, Bill of Materials, Sheetmetal Flat Patterns and .DXF files to CNC all steel plates.
